On Wednesday we had a special visitor brought in by Mrs Cole, Tanya and Hannah. It was a Bullers Mollymawk that had blown off course and found in a farmers lane in Otama. Mrs Cole brought it in on her way to returning it to Oreti Beach. The Bullers Mollymawk is part of the Albatross family. We found out lots of interesting facts and everyone got a pat. Ask your children what they learnt!
On Thursday I went to Mataura School to see Richie McCaw, Collin Slade and Wyatt Crockett. They are in the All Blacks rugby team. We got to play bullrush with them. I got tackled by Collin Slade. When we went into Room 9 we got to ask questions. My favourite was Collin Slade.

We are really lucky to have Sarah from Tennis Southland coming to school this term to teach us some tennis skills. We started with throwing and catching the tennis ball. We also used cones to catch the ball as we will use the same action later in our lessons to hit the ball with a tennis racket. Everyone had heaps of fun and Sarah said the children had some great ball skills.
We were very luck to have Tigger the lamb come and visit us. Mrs Allen has had Tigger for one week. He left lots of little puddles around the classroom but we all had fun and did some great writing using lots of describing words. Some lucky kids got to feed Tigger and other children had him out to play at lunch time. Thank you Mrs Allen!
We had a great 2 weeks of swimming and learnt alot of new skills. It was fantastic to see the childrens skills improve and their confidence grow.
Wow everyone looked amazing. There were so many cool hairstyles. I was amazed by the creativity! Congratulations to Sandy for winning the Hairspray tickets.
We are very lucky to have a coach come out and teach us some amazing rugby skills. There was some great catching, throwing and kicking happening. We can't wait to have our next session.
