What makes shadows?

We set out to find what makes shadows. First in groups we brainstormed what we thought a shadow was and how it is  made. We found out it was the sun trying to get through us but we are to solid, thus creating a shadow. We found out the length of our shadow changes depending where the sun is in the sky, Wow! We had so much fun drawing around our shadows. Finally we watched a short youtube clip on shadows to reinforce what we learnt. Then we wrote explanations to our question in writing time.
